Welcome to the CKRA "Meet Our Members" area. We will be featuring a CKRA Member each week. This weeks CKRA member is Reg LeBlanc from the Junior. Check back next Friday to view the next new member profile Chris Lawlor.
Reg LeBlanc has been the voice of CKRA since 2009, but his connection to the club goes much further back than many realize.
A native of the nearby town of Memramcook, he was first introduced to CKRA in 1994, when he watched his uncle race in the long-ago F-100 class.
In 2002, he began as a volunteer flagger, and by 2005, he began racing himself. He won the Maritime Championship in Senior Heavy (a predecessor to today’s Masters) in 2006, and continued to race karts competitively until 2011.
Starting university studies in the fall of 2009, Reg retired as a full-time racer, but at the end of that season, a chance opportunity meant that he would fill in for the regular CKRA announcer role during a night race in August.
As they say, "The rest is history". He has called the ups, downs and thrills of many racers at the club, entertaining the club's crowds over the past decade.
In 2017, he was selected to become the track and play-by-play announcer for the ASN Canada National Championships at Mosport Kartways in Ontario! The ultimate job of jobs in the kart racing world in Canada.
Reg will once again return as the voice of CKRA for a 9th full season. Stay tuned!
