CKRA SUMMER KARTING FESTIVAL 2017

Welcome to the 2017 Summer Karting Festival (SKF)

This event is organized by Championship Kart Racing Association, hosted by East Coast Karting (EKC) and Champlain Motorsports.

All the volunteers for this event are drawn from CKRA, and those interested in promoting the sport of Karting.

A big thank you to those who have committed their time and energy to make this event happen.

SKF – Highlights:

• Friday July 14 – open practice.
• Saturday July 15 – practise in morning, timed qualification & 2 heats in evening
• Sunday July 16th – heat # 3, pre-final & final.
• CKRA - Championship points event
o Timed qualification and heat events scored as heats.
o Pre-Final & Final scored as feature.
• Saturday – track direction is clockwise, Sunday counter clockwise.
• Timed qualification incorporates “Super Pole”.
• Pit competition on Saturday afternoon.
• BBQ Saturday.
• Cash & Prizes for selected achievement.

Registration:

o Registration at the track is $ 175.00 per participate/class. Pre-registration @ $150.00 per participate/class closes on July 4th. Pre-registration forms will be available on CKRA Web site after May 1st. www.ckranb.com
o Licence – driver participates are required to have a valid club membership, issued by either CKRA. These documents will be asked for at the time of registration. Proof of licence is your responsibility. For driver participates not a member of CKRA, a single event membership will be available for $ 50.00 with a valid club membership or ASN National licence. Starting position details:

o Starting position for 1st heat race is determined by timed qualification. Top 3 or 5 positions by Super Pole.
o Starting positions for heat 2 & 3 will be determined by the finishing order of the previous heat.
o Starting positions for Pre-Final is your finishing position in Heat # 3.
o Starting position for Final – determined by finishing position in pre-final.


Other information:

o Tires for event – Vega – wet or dry.
o ASN National warm up rule in the pits apply once track opens Saturday July 15.
o Entrance and exit to and from pits, check with race director for information.

Detailed schedule:

Friday July 14, 2017

o Practise, open – 9 AM to 8 PM, subject to track being available for all registered participates.
Saturday July 15, 2017:

o Credential pick up for preregistrations and registration –8 to 9 and again at 11 to noon.
o Official practise, session # 1 – Saturday July 15 – 9 to 11:00AM (subject to change). Track is closed to all competitors from 11:00 AM to 5 PM. No time extension to session if Red flagged.
o Final credential pick up for preregistrations and registration –4 to 5 PM.
o BBQ open 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
o Official Practise, session # 2 – Saturday July 15 – 5 to 7:00 PM. 8 minutes per class. No time extension to session if Red flagged.
o Welcome & drivers meeting @ 7:15 PM – all drivers required to attend.

▪ 12 laps for all other classes
o Heat Race # 2 @ 9:00 PM – 12 Laps per class.
▪ 8 laps for Rookie Novice
▪ 12 laps for all other classes
o On-track activity finishes once heat # 2 is complete.


o Sunday July 16, 2016:
o Track direction counter clockwise
o No on track activity until warm ups.
o Warm up @ 10:00AM – 8 minutes per class
o Drivers meeting @ 10:45 AM (optional)
o Heat Race # 3 @ 11:00 AM
▪ 8 laps for Rookie Novice
▪ 12 laps for all other classes
o Posting of overall heat results – lowest point system @ noon.
o BBQ open for Lunch noon to 1:00


o Official opening ceremonies & National Anthem – 1:00PM.


o Pre-Final @ 1:00 PM
▪ Rookie Novice = 8 laps
▪ Cadet = 15 laps
▪ Junior = 20 laps
▪ Senior = 25 laps
▪ Master = 25 laps (if numbers warrant)
o Final @ 2:30 PM
▪ Rookie Novice = 8 laps
▪ Cadet = 15 laps
▪ Junior = 25 laps
▪ Senior = 30 laps
▪ Master = 30 laps
o Technical inspection 3:30 to 4:00 PM
o Posting of official results of Final@ 4:00 PM
o Trophy presentation @ 4:15 PM
